What does my child need to get their driver's license?
a. Drivers Ed age 15 (start on our drivers ed tab)
b. Six hours behind the wheel with a licensed instructor
c. 50 hours behind the wheel with a parent (10 hours being at night)
d. Have a permit a minimum of 6 months and one day
e. Be a minimum of 16 years of age
What is Driver's Education?
Driver's Ed is an online course required by California for minors. 30hrs in length and teaches students what the signs and lines mean while driving.
What does my teen do when the online course is completed?
After driver's ed is completed, each student will be issued a certificate of completion. Your teen will need to take their certificate to the DMV along with their birth certificate, Social Security number, and a completed DL 44 form (application for the permit). They will then take the written permit test. Once they obtain the permit, student will be eligible to take the behind the wheel part of the driving program.
How old does my teen have to be to take Driver's Education?
Your child must be between the ages of 15 years old to enroll in a driver's education program. Adult students are encouraged to participate in the driver's education course. Sample permit practice questions test also available.
How old does my teen have to be in order to receive their permit?
Student must be at least 15 ½ years old.
Do I have to pay all at once for driving lessons?
No. We payments plans, however all payments must be made prior to starting any driving lessons with Norcal Driving School.
Will other students be in the car during my lessons?
No, our behind the wheel lessons are strictly one on one in order to provide our students with the full and undivided attention which makes for a positive learning experience.
How long are the driving lessons?
All driving lessons are 2 hours long.
How do I purchase driving lessons?
Registration is open. Click on driving lessons to select your package.
Is there a cancellation fee?
Yes, if you must cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice, there will be a cancellation fee of $75.00. Drive Test appointments require 48hrs notice. No permit present at the time of lesson will result in a cancellation fee of $75.00. Please remember to email norcaldriving@norcaldriving.com.
Lessons are non refundable.
